I actually did the call-ahead thing today with a store at the mall. They quickly found the items I wanted and set them aside for me. When the associate returned to the phone after finding the items, however, she commented on how busy the store was and that people were following her around. I felt so grateful she took the time for me! Like you suggested, I made good on the time I'd arrive to pick up the item, and it was waiting for me. Good thing I called ahead, too... they only received 4 of the items in stock and had already been told they wouldn't be getting any more until mid-January. GREAT suggestions-- very useful, practical, and true!

Ooh, I'm so going to do the movie lover's thing - we were already getting someone a Netflix cert and this will be perfect to make the gift more exciting! Thanks, Leah!
